Carmichaels 4, Beth-Center 1: Matt Barrish threw a five-hitter and struck out seven in Carmichaels’ 4-1 victory ocer Beth-Center in non-section action.

Gavin Pratt tripled for the Mikes (1-0), who scored two runs on passed balls.

David Morris and Ryan Ross each hhad a double for Beth-Center.

Quaker Valley 9, Chartiers-Houston 2: Christian Johnson and Isaac Guss combined for five RBI to help Quaker Valley down Chartiers-Houston, 9-2, in a non-section game.

Johnson drove in three and Guss two for QV (2-0). Jacob Commens struck out five and did not walk a batter.

Jim Sadler hit a solo home run and Andrew Kowalski and Roman Lombardi each hit a double for the Bucs (0-2).

Bentworth 6, Jefferson-Morgan 3: A five-run sixth inning powered Bentworth to a 6-3 win over Jefferson-Morgan inn a non-section game.

No. 9 hitter Austyn Pistelli had three hits and drove in two runs for Bentworth (1-1). Jacob Kisner added a double.

Bryce Bedillion had two RBI for Jefferson-Morgan (0-1).

Trinity 9, Waynesburg 4: Trinity erupted for eight runs over the last two innings to stop Waynesburg, 9-4, at Meadowlark Park.

Jax Banco and Forrest Havanas each had a double for the Hillers (3-2), who trailed 4-1 heading into the top of the fifth. Brandon Robaugh was the winning pitch, walking two and striking out nine in four innings. Banco and A.D. Nelson each drove in two runs.

Luke Robinson tripled for Waynesburg (0-1).

Softball

Burgettstown 8, Carlynton 0: Aubrey Krivak tossed a two-hit shutout and struck out 12 as Burgettstown rolled past Carlynton, 8-0, in a Section 1-AA game.

Krivak also doubled for the Blue Devils (1-0, 1-0). Madesyn Monaghan went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBI. Brooke Vebelun also doubled. Jordan Baronick and Destiny Kinder each went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Beth-Center 25, California 7: Beth-Center took advantage of 15 walks by California to come away with a 25-7 victory in a non-section game.

Hannah Moore had a three-run home run for Beth-Center (1-0). California fell to 0-1.
