Game Commission investigating bald eagle death in Mount Pleasant Twp.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission is investigating the death of a bald eagle in Mount Pleasant Township.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission’s Southwest Region is seeking information related to a dead bald eagle that was found along Water Dam Road in the area of the Cherry Valley Dam on Friday afternoon.
The information was posted on the Facebook page of the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s Operation Game Thief program, which serves to protect wild birds and wild mammals and encourages those who have information related to wildlife crimes to report details as soon as possible.
In the case of the dead bald eagle, the game commissioner has not released any information on the cause of the bald eagle’s death, but the state game warden’s investigation suggested a white SUV was in the area at the time.
Game wardens would like to speak to the operator of the white SUV to obtain additional information about the bald eagle.
Nobody with the game commission was available for comment or additional information on the matter over the weekend.
The game commission is asking anyone with information related to the incident to report it to the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s Southwest Region office at 1-833-PGC-WILD or the Operation Game Thief Hotline at 1-888-PGC-8001 or online at http://bit.ly/PGCOGT.
