CARNEGIE — Cole Jaworowski ran for three touchdowns and passed for another, and Avella held off Carlynton 32-28 in a Class A Black Hills Conference game Friday night.

Avella (1-2, 3-3), which did not play last week because it did not have enough healthy players, climbed to the .500 mark overall with the win. The Eagles led 26-14 at halftime but a one-yard Jaworowski TD run in the third quarter was all Avella needed in the second half.

Jaworowski also had TD runs of three and six yards. He threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Bradick to open the scoring. The duo also hooked up on a two-point conversion pass.

Bradick rushed for 116 yards on 21 carries.

Chas Rush had a 14-yard scoring scamper for the Eagles.
