Bulldogs rally past Mikes
CARMICHAELS — Beth-Center scored three straight touchdowns in the second and third quarters to take control and rally for a 34-20 victory over Class A Tri-County South Conference game Friday night.
The Mikes (1-2, 2-4) had a 12-6 lead after the first quarter on a touchdown run by AJ Donaldson and an 85-yard kickoff return for a score by Billy White, but the Bulldogs’ Ethan Varesko, Johan Sussan and Teagan Veatch scored for a 28-12 advantage with 5:14 remaining in the third quarter.
Donaldson’s 6-yard touchdown run at 1:23 of the third pulled his team within eight after Ambrose Adamson caught a two-point reception from Donaldson.
Varesko’s 46-yard run with 19.3 left in the third extended the Beth-Center lead to 34-20. Varesko, who also scored in the first quarter, ran for 165 yards on 18 carries.
The Bulldogs improved to 2-1 in conference action and 2-4 overall.
