Moon flies past South Fayette

CORAOPOLIS — Moon scored two touchdowns one minute apart in the second quarter and went on to a 24-3 victory over South Fayette in a Class 5A Allegheny Six Conference game Friday night.

South Fayette (0-2, 2-4) scored first, on a 30-yard field goal by Tyler Nicholson midway through the first quarter.

Moon (1-0, 3-3) took the lead in the second quarter on a 12-yard TD run by Josh Bladel. Twenty-nine seconds later, Moon’s Jared Moyer scooped up a fumble when the South Fayette quarterback was hit and raced 32 yards for a touchdown that gave the Tigers a 14-3 lead.

Nazir Brookins added a two-yard scoring plunge and Hayden Boland booted a 24-yard field goal in the second half.
