The Washington-Greene Co. Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame announced Monday its Class of 2024 inductees, special honorees, Courage Awards, Above and Beyond Award recipient and Hall of Fame Moment.
The 38th induction banquet will take place 3 p.m. Sunday, June 9 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Southpointe.
The Class of 2024 includes Bill Dukett (Coach, Youth Services, Athlete, Football – Washington & Jefferson College and East Stroudsburg University); Damon “D.J.” Faldowski (Athlete, Baseball – Trinity HS and U.S. Naval Academy); Jeff Frazier (Athlete, Golf – Washington HS and Washington & Jefferson); Wes Harrington (Athlete, Baseball – Burgettstown HS and Ohio University); Terry Havelka (Coach, Athlete, Administrator, Wrestling and Football – Burgettstown HS and William and Mary University); Kathy Knabb (Athlete, Cross Country and Track and Field – Peters Township HS and North Carolina State University); Josh Koscheck (Athlete, Wrestling, Ultimate Fighting – Waynesburg Central HS and Edinboro University); Tom Morrell (Athlete, Wrestling – Immaculate Conception HS and Washington & Jefferson); Mike Sirianni (Coach, Football – Washington & Jefferson); Ramont Small (Athlete, Coach, Football, Track and Field – Ringgold HS, University of Akron and Washington & Jefferson College); Paul Stanley (Athlete, Basketball, Softball – Butler High School and Waynesburg University); Jim Vulcano (Athlete, Coach, Wrestling – Chartiers-Houston HS); 1994 McGuffey Highlanders, Team of Yesteryear, Football.
Special Honorees are James J. Faiella (Youth Service – Washington and Trinity HS) and Roy Winfield, Soccer (Posthumous – Washington).
The James C. “Jimmy” Montecalvo and Luke Blanock Memorial Courage Award winners are George Malanosky, Beth Center High School, and Marissa Rush, Washington & Jefferson softball.
The Edward E. “Eddie” Monaco Above and Beyond Award winner is Cherie Mazutis, Special Olympics of Pennsylvania, Chartiers-Houston HS.
The Hall of Fame Moment recipient is Lorie Wise Hildreth, West Greene HS, who hit the totally uncommon home run cycle in a game against Carmichaels on May 22, 1979.
The public sale of tickets for the banquet will begin April 1. Tickets are $55. Tables are rounds of 10 – table of 10 – $550. Make checks payable to: PA SPORTS H.O.F. Wash-Greene.
