Small college basketball: Vulcans cruise, improve record to 7-0

The California men’s basketball team remained undefeated with an easy 89-50 victory over cold-shooting Chestnut Hill in a non-conference played Sunday at Hamer Hall.
It was the first home game of the season for Cal (7-0).
The Vulcans were in command throughout, building a 45-20 halftime lead.
Cal put four players in double figures, led by Zyan Collins’ 19 points. Bryson Lucas had 15 points, K.J. McCurg 13 and Jermaine Hall 10. Eleven different Vulcans cracked the scoring column.
Chestnut Hill (1-9) shot only 30 percent from the field and made just two of 20 from three-point range.
Neal Hill led the Griffins with 16 points.

Allegheny 61, Waynesburg 54
Luke Barker scored 18 points and Allegheny ended the game with a 12-4 run to rally for a 61-54 victory over visiting Waynesburg in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference game Saturday.
Allegheny took the lead for good at 55-53 with 56 seconds remaining on a basket by Barker.
The difference in the game was the free-throwing shooting. Allegheny made 12 of 15 foul shots while Waynesburg converted only 6 of 14.
Jordan McLoyd led the Yellow Jackets with 14 points and P.J. Suggs tallied 10.

Allegheny 90, Waynesburg 53
Jess Bickart and Emily Lauer each scored 18 points as Allegheny cruised to a 90-53 win over Waynesburg in PASC play Saturday.
Waynesburg (0-6, 0-9) trailed 44-29 at halftime.
Julz Mohrbacher and Anika Dansby each scored 10 points for the Yellow Jackets, who have lost 21 consecutive games dating back to last season.
