Chartiers-Houston used a 13-hit attack to defeat Burgettstown 14-4 in a Class 2A Section 1 game Wednesday.

Aaron Walsh had three hits and Nico Filosi drove in three. Nathan Christy, Dom Cumer and winning pitcher Keegan Kosek each drove in two for the Bucs (4-0, 5-4).

Brodie Kuzior hit a 2-run homer for Burgettstown (3-1, 3-3-1).

Bishop Canevin 14, Monessen 1

Jackson Maddix threw a no-hitter and defending WPIAL Class A champion Bishop Canevin defeated Monessen 14-1 in Section 3.

Maddix struck out 13 and walked one batter.

Monessen (0-5, 0-8) managed to avoid a shutout when the Greyhounds scored in the top of the first inning without the benefit of a base hit. Moneesen scored by using a hit batsman, a walk, a stolen base and a throwing error to send a run across home plate.
