Carmichaels and Chartiers-Houston softball couldn’t get any closer this season, but Monday’s game at Peterswood Park in the Class A state semifinals will decide who will head to Penn State University to play for a PIAA championship.

The first pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The Mikes (17-3) and Bucs (19-2) have played three times this season with Chartiers-Houston holding a 2-1 edge, but both teams have scored 14 runs apiece. The Bucs and Mikes had to finish a game that was suspended on April 16 due to darkness on May 2 with Carmichaels winning 7-5.

Chartiers-Houston earned a 6-5 victory on April 19 and a 3-2 triumph on May 22 in the semifinals of the WPIAL playoffs.
