Rebels lose in AC Classic semifinals

The Washington Rebels suffered a 4-2 setback to the North Pittsburgh A’s in the semifinals of the AC Classic at La Roche University Sunday.

Burgettstown’s Eric Kovach took the hard-luck loss for Washington, despite registering 13 strikeouts in six innings.

High school teammate Sam Elich had a pair of hits and an RBI for the Rebels, while Bentworth’s Lucas Burt also doubled and drove in a run.

Pine-Richland’s Alex Anichinne allowed six hits and two runs in 5 2/3 innings to get the win.
