Sam Allen’s two-run double capped Ringgold’s five-run bottom of the sixth inning and gave the Rams an 8-7 come-from-behind win over visiting Charleroi on Wednesday.

Ringgold (1-1) trailed 4-0 early and 7-3 entering the sixth. A bases-loaded walk followed by a hit batsman gave Ringgold its first two runs of the sixth and cut Charleroi’s lead to 7-5. A sacrifice fly made it a one-run game and Allen delivered his go-ahead double to left field.

Andrew Sprinkle was the winning pitcher with two innings of hitless relief.

Tyler O’Neil had a double for Charleroi (2-1).

* Joe Bair hit a tiebreaking two-run single in the fifth inning and Jefferson-Morgan defeated visiting Trinity Christian, 4-1.

Bair’s hit was part of a three-run inning by the Rockets that broke a 1-1 tie. Brayden Ellsworth drew a bases-loaded walk to cap the big inning.

Starter John Woodward and reliever Brock Bayles combined on a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts.

J-M’s Brenton Barnhart had a double.

* Bethel Park did all of its scoring in the first three frames and went on to an 11-1 victory in five innings over visiting Canon-McMillan.

Nico Patragas provided the Big Macs (0-1) with their only run by hitting his first career home run in the second inning.

* Mapletown was a 22-8 winner at Turkeyfoot in the Maples’ season opener.

Cameryn Shaffer was the winning pitcher.
