Dean, Renk win 2 golds at Baldwin Invite

Canon-McMillan’s Colton Dean and South Fayette’s Olivia Renk won gold in two events on Saturday at the Baldwin Invitational.

Dean won the boys 100-meter dash in 10.90 and the 300 hurdles in 38.85. Renk swept the 100 and 200 in times of 12.18 and 24.81.

The Lions went 1-2 in the girls 300 hurdles with Delaney Schumaker crossing the finish line in 45.28 and Evabella Cox finishing in 46.08. Canon-McMillan’s Elisabeth Franczyk was third in 46.42.

The Big Macs’ Maggie Clair won the shot put in 39-11.

Canon-McMillan’s Isaiah Hicks broke the tape in the 400 in a time of 49.85. Teammate Louis Liberatore topped the field in the javelin with a throw of 173-9.

Fort Cherry’s boys 4×100-meter relay team of Dylan Wudkwych, Tegan Henke, Shane Cornali and Matt Sieg won gold at the Pine-Richland Invitational in a time of 42.79. Their time is the fastest in the state in Class 2A this year.

Trinity’s Ella Sammel won the high jump with a leap of 5-3 at Pine-Richland.
