High school softball: Williams hits 2 HRs, powers Canon-Mac over Trinity

Kiersten Williams hit two home runs and drove in four runs, powering Canon-McMillan to an 8-4 victory over host Trinity in a non-section between playoff-bound teams from different classifications.
Williams, who went 2-for-3, gave Canon-McMillan (7-11) a 2-0 lead with a home run in the first inning. After Trinity (11-6) tied the score at 3-3, Williams hit her second home run, another two-run shot, that put the Big Macs ahead for good at 5-3.
Morgan Doyle and Samantha Booher each scored a pair of runs for C-M.
Trinity received doubles from Hanna Suhoski, Emily Hasson and Remmie Seitz.
Chartiers-Houston 8, Serra Catholic 0
Meadow Ferri continued her stellar season by firing a one-hitter as Chartiers-Houston blanked Serra Catholic 8-0 in a non-section game.
Ferri walked three and struck out 12. She had plenty of offensive support as Zaylee Fonner and Taryne Drilak each drove in two runs and Ella Richey scored twice. Ferri helped her cause by hitting a double.
C-H is 15-2 overall.
Waynesburg 7, Gateway 1
Gina Tedrow struck out 19 batters, Aidan Snider doubled and drove in two runs and Waynesburg defeated host Gateway 7-1 in non-section play.
Tedrow threw a five-hitter and issued one walk as Waynesburg improved to 7-11.
Avery Davis tripled and scored twice.
South Fayette 11, McKeesport 1
Maddie Cavenaugh went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI as South Fayette beat host McKeesport 11-1 in five innings.
Emma Smith had a double and three RBI for the Lions (11-5).
Winning pitcher Stephanie Binek allowed only one hit, a solo homer by Jessica Miller.
South Park 11, Ringgold 0
Two South Park pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout as the eagles blanked Ringgold 11-0 in five innings.
