High school baseball: Big Macs win rain-shortened game

Canon-McMillan scored four times in the fifth inning and beat visiting Hampton 6-3 in a rain-shortened game Thursday.

The game was called after five innings.

Winning pitcher Will Tczak hit a double for the Big Macs (9-11).

Jefferson-Morgan 12, Carylynton 2

John Woodward homered, Brock Bayles drove in four runs and Jefferson-Morgan rolled to a 12-2 win over Carlynton in a non-section game.

Deakyn Dehoet smacked two doubles for the Rockets, who scored eight runs in the third inning.

Washington 11, Winchester Thurston 8

William Callan drove in six runs on three hits, including a double, Var Chandler hit a home run and Washington defeated Winchester Thurston 11-8 Wednesday night at Wild Things Park.

The Prexies (9-9) had 10 hits, including five that went for extra bases. Kyle Bainer hit a triple, and Caleb Patton and Isaac Charnik doubled.

Callan was the winning pitcher, striking out eight in 4 ⅓ innings of relief.
