Boys basketball: PT stays balanced, topples Mt. Lebanon

Sean Thelk led four Peters Township players in double figures with 12 points – all on three-point field goals – as the Indians defeated Mt. Lebanon 62-54 in non-section action Friday at AHN Arena.

The Indians (11-4), who have won four straight, led 17-8 after one quarter and maintained the nine-point edge at halftime.

Nate Miller, Cam Mills and Jack Dunbar each scored 11 points for PT.

Mt. Lebanon (12-3) received a game-high 14 points from Riley Farabaugh. Nate Girod added 13.

Waynesburg 56, Charleroi 44

Dane Wood scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, powering Waynesburg to a 56-44 victory over Charleroi in Class 3A Section 4.

Waynesburg (1-5, 3-1) used a 17-10 scoring edge in the second quarter to open a 27-19 lead. Charleroi (2-5, 6-10) closed to within 38-33, but the Raiders held an 18-11 edge in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Alex Eck scored 12 points for Waynesburg.

Bryce Large had a game-high 18 points to lead Charleroi. Jackson Keranko scored 13.
