High school wrestling: Trinity wins title at Duals

Trinity had a strong showing in its dual-meet tournament Saturday, winning the championship over Latrobe, 43-24.
The Hillers also defeated Eastlake North (Ohio) 69-0, and Wheeling Park, 49-12.
Blake Reihner won all three of his bouts, including his 100th career victory with a fall over Eastlake North.
Mickey Horne, Jacob Wright, Dominick Canali, Devin Junko, and Thomas and Robert Allison all went 3-0.
Canon-McMillan’s Andrew Binni placed seventh at the Walsh Jesuit Ironman tournament and also earned his 100th career victory.
The Big Mac senior was 4-3 in the 126-pound weight class. He won his first match by major decision, 15-5, before losing, 11-3, to fall into the consolation bracket.
Binni won three straight bouts to guarantee a spot on the podium as one of the top eight starting with a 10-2 major decision over Reynolds’ Logan Stewart to earn his 100th career victory.
The Big Mac girls earned eighth place with five placewinners.
Natalie Rush pinned her opponent at 190 to finish in third place. Bailey Emery was fifth at 130 and Evangeline Gray sixth at 145.
Paige Ward finished seventh at 170 and Leilani Ramos eighth at 135.
Waynesburg had three champions at the Rick Link Invitational on Saturday at Union Local High School.
Floyd Huff (114), Ky Szewczyk (127) and Jake Stephenson (190) all finished 5-0 to win titles.
Brock Evans was second at 160 and Roan Tustin fourth at 285. Aidan Pester was fourth at 165 and Travis Tedrow was 3-1 at 145.
