Wild Things pitchers yielded only five hits and struck out 15 batters Thursday night, but the offense could generate only one run and that caused Washington’s three-game winning streak to end.
Christian Kuzemka homered and Will Armbruester pitched seven stellar innings as the Windy City ThunderBolts defeated Washington 3-1 at Wild Things Park.
Washington entered the night tied with Schaumburg for first place in the Frontier League’s West Division.

The ThunderBolts, who went 2-7 on their nine-game road trip, scored two runs in the third for a 3-1 lead, and the Windy City pitching staff made it stand.
Armbruester scattered eight hits over seven innings. Greg Duncan pitched the ninth inning for his third save.
Barrington allowed four hits, three runs and one walk over six innings. He struck out nine. Relievers Christian James and Alex Carrillo combined for six strikeouts over the final three innings.
Washington outhit Windy City 9-5.
