The Wild Things began a week of exhibition games by splitting two contests against the Florence Y’alls. Washington won at Florence, 7-5, Tuesday night before losing a Kids Days Game, 4-3, on Wednesday at Wild Things Park.

Daniel Harris had a two-run double in Washington’s four-run sixth that put the Wild Things head Tuesday. Gyeongju Kim was the winning pitcher with three scoreless innings of relief. He struck out four.

In the Wednesday game, Wagner Lagrange hit a solo home run for Washington. The Wild Things went to the ninth inning trailing 4-2 but closed the gap on four consecutive walks that pushed across a run. Florence, however, won the game by getting a strikeout, popout and strikeout, all with the bases loaded, to end the game.

The Wild Things will play the Black Sox, a team of unsigned free agents, in a Kids Day game today before playing a home-and-home series Saturday and Sunday against the Lake Erie Crushers.

Washington opens the Frontier League regular season May 10 at home against the Schaumburg Boomers.
