Czech homers again as Wild Things win

BROCKTON, Mass. – Andrew Czech went 4-for-4 and homered for the fifth consecutive game, powering Washington to a 10-5 victory over the New England Knockouts in a Frontier League game that was called after seven innings because of rain Wednesday night.

Czech hit his fifth home run of the season and added two doubles. He scored twice and drove in two.

Tommy Caufield also homered. He was 3-for-4 with three RBI. Robert Chayka went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBI.

Washington trailed 3-0 early and was tied 5-5 after five innings. The Wild Things scored four runs in the top of the sixth to take the lead.

Starter Jordan DiValerio (1-0) was the winning pitcher. He gave up nine hits and five runs (four earned) in five innings. Gyeongju Kim followed with two scoreless innings of relief.
