TROY, N.Y. – Caleb McNeely hit a two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning Saturday night as the Wild Things defeated the Tri-City ValleyCats, 2-1.

The win is the fourth in a row — all on the road — for Washington. The Wild Things will try for a series sweep Sunday evening.

Kobe Foster (1-0) and three relievers combined on a seven-hitter. Foster gave up five hits and one run over 6 2/3 innings. Justin Goossen-Brown got the final out of the seventh inning and Alex Carrillo pitched the eighth. Rookie Gyeongju Kim was credited with his second save in as many days by pitching a scoreless ninth inning.

Tri-City pushed across a run in the third inning to take a 1-0 lead.

In the seventh, Washington’s Evan Berkey was hit by a pitch with one out and advanced to second base when Carson Clowers grounded out. McNeely then hit an opposite-field homer, to right-centerfield, off Dan Beebe (0-1), who threw 5 2/3 innings of relief.

The Wild Things were held to three hits. Alex Ovalles had a double and Robert Chayka singled.
