Four men accused of robbing a Chartiers Township gas station last month appeared Wednesday in Washington County Central Court.

Charles E. Clark, 20, of 770 Ridge Road, Taylorstown; Travis J. Hallam, 19, of 1209 Sycamore Ave., Washington; David Allen Piatt, 20, of 1283 Weirich Ave., Canton Township, and Matthew C. McDonald, 19, of 498 Park Ave., North Franklin Township, were all scheduled for preliminary hearings before District Judge Gary Havelka.

Clark and McDonald waived their right to the hearings, while Piatt’s and Hallam’s hearings were continued until Dec. 13.

The men face numerous charges related to the Nov. 13 robbery at Kwik Fill, West Pike Street. All remain in the Washington County Jail.

According to police reports, McDonald allegedly went into the store, pointed a gun at the clerk and stole cash, power drinks and potato chips. Clark was identified as the driver of the getaway vehicle parked on a nearby side street while the other two were in the car waiting for McDonald.

Clark, Hallam and Piatt also were charged by state police for allegedly robbing the Subway restaurant a few hours before reportedly robbing the gas station. McDonald was not with the trio at the time, police said.
