One injured: Julieann Johnston, 51, of Weirton, W.Va., was injured Monday when her vehicle crossed into the opposite lane and struck a vehicle driven by Penny Wagoner, 43, of Colliers, W.Va. The crash happened on Market Street near Erie Street, Burgettstown, state police said. Johnston, who was taken to Weirton Medical Center for treatment, will be cited for failure to stay on her side of the road.
Man assaulted: Montgomery Keith, 32, of Houston, told Canonsburg police Monday night he was assaulted at a bar, but police were not able to determine where the alleged assault occurred.Police were called by Canonsburg General Hospital emergency room staff after Keith arrived for treatment. Keith told police he had been talking with a woman when her husband started hitting him with a pool cue. He claimed it happened at a bar in Canonsburg, but police checked and learned it did not happen there. Keith was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of head injuries.
Vehicle entered: Andrew Gmiter of 303 Thornwood Drive told Canonsburg police Monday he heard his dog barking. When he opened the door of his home, he saw a white man wearing a hooded shirt run from his vehicle. Stolen from Gmiter’s vehicle were a digital camera, cellphone charger, marriage license, passport and Social Security card.
Home burglarized: Jordan Clarke of 424 Blaine Ave., told Canonsburg police Monday DVDs, prescription medication and coins were stolen in a burglary of his home. He told police the culprit may have crawled through a living room window.
Medication stolen: Jason Mooney, 413 N. Jefferson Ave., told Canonsburg police Sunday prescription medication he had hidden under his mattress was stolen.
Faces DUI charge: Donald Gshinsky Jr., 55, of 439 E. Prospect St., Washington, will be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after almost hitting a vehicle and then driving onto the sidewalk, almost hitting a pedestrian Saturday on Adams Avenue, Canonsburg police said. A witness was following Gshinsky and called police. Gshinsky’s blood alcohol content was more than 2 1/2 times the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication.
Snowblower stolen: Azetta Spicer of 802 Perry Como Ave. told Canonsburg police Friday a snow blower was stolen from her home.
Coins, rifle stolen: John Svitek of 609 Highland Ave. told Canonsburg police Friday silver coins and a rifle were stolen from his home.
Window broken: A window in the office door at Valley View Terrace was broken by vandals Friday, Canonsburg police said.
Charges pending: Michael Lee Norfleet, 28, of 580 Maple Terrace, Washington, faces charges of simple assault, criminal mischief and theft for allegedly assaulting 24-year-old Alicia Williams early Tuesday at 318 Greenside Ave. Williams told Canonsburg police Norfleet came to her home intoxicated. He reportedly punched her and kicked and stomped on her back. He also destroyed two televisions and stole her cellphone before leaving. Pieces of it were found in her yard.Williams was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment. Charges against Norfleet will be filed by summons with the office of District Judge David Mark.
Bank card used: Andrew Holik Jr. of 302 Grace Ave. told Canonsburg police Saturday information from his bank card was used to make a $652 purchase at an Office Depot, Cheektowaga, N.Y. A second attempt also was made to use the card.
Woman charged: Sashala Dobscha, 20, of Washington, was charged by state police with harassment for allegedly slapping James Sarasnick, 23, of Scenery Hill, in the face during a confrontation Sunday night at 30 Bel Air Drive, Canton, state police said.
Charged in assault: Mark S. Main, 42, of 115 Highland Ave., West Alexander, was arrested Friday by Donegal police for allegedly grabbing Jodi Michelle Main by the neck, pushing her against a wall and punching her. Main was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in the Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Warrant arrest: Matthew R. Skodak, 26, of 184 Highland Terrace, Donora, was arrested by Donora police as a fugitive from justice. Police received a tip he was at the home early Tuesday. He is wanted by the Collin County, Texas, sheriff’s office on a warrant for unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Texas officials said they would extradite. Skodak was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in the Washington County jail without bond pending extradition to Texas.
Assault arrest: Jeremy Ray Washington, 25, of 345 Fannie St., McDonald, was arrested Sunday by McDonald police on a warrant stemming from an assault last month at Michael’s, 341 E. Lincoln St. Washington is accused of punching Mark Lindner, who works at the bar, and threatening to kill him. Police said Lindner suffered a broken bone around his eye in the assault. Washington was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Scrap stolen: Kenneth Kvartek of 2068 E. National Pike, North Bethlehem, told state police Monday scrap metal was stolen from his yard over the last several months.
Paraphernalia arrest: Jennifer Elizabeth Trout, 31, of 420 E. Hallam Ave., Washington, was arrested Saturday on a warrant for allegedly possessing a crack pipe and other paraphernalia during an incident Sept. 21 on West Walnut Street. Trout was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in the Washington County jail on $1,000 bond.
Possession: Jocelynn J. Watts, 20, of 52 Burton Avenue will be charged by city police Friday for possessing a small amount of marijuana and baggies after being pulled over by city police on Oct. 13. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Stolen property: Christopher Thomas, Jr., 18, of 219 Ridge Ave., Apt. 3, was charged by city police for receiving stolen property after a radar detector and walkie-talkies he sold to a pawnshop were reported stolen. Charges will be sent through the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Theft: Kenneth Samuel Wheeler, 53, of 235 W. Chestnut St., Apt., 409, was charged by city police with theft after stealing $100 from Brew Avenue on Jefferson Avenue Aug. 19. According to court documents, Wheeler received change for a $100 bill from an employee, but left before giving handing over his cash.
Possession charge: Susan M. Doak, 46, of 25 Ramsay Rd., was charged by city police for possessing Xanax and Opana pills without a prescription and paraphernalia including syringes after police pulled her over on Wheeling Avenue Saturday. Charges will be sent through the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Assault charge: Torrey Brown, 37, of 420 Wheeling St., will be charged by city police with simple assault and harassment after an altercation that took place with Greg Avery Sr., outside the VIP bar on North Main Street. According to court documents, Brown punched Avery after he attempted to leave the bar Nov. 5, causing an abrasion below his right eye and a laceration to his chin that required four stitches. Charges will be sent through the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Theft: Annie Marie Wagner, 36, of 143 Monterrey St., will be charged by city police for stealing a dining room table from the apartment she was evicted from July 9. According to court documents, Wagner took the $200 table while moving her possessions from the porch of the property on Houston Street. Charges will be sent by District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Keyed vehicle: Stacy Schnore, of 643 Allison Ave., told city police somebody keyed the passenger-side doors of her vehicle while it was parked at her residence.
Stolen wallet: Tricia Kennedy, of 135 Maple Ave., told city police that somebody stole her wallet containing $50 from her vehicle.
Keyed vehicle: City police will charge a minor for keying the side of Kayla Briggs’s vehicle after a confrontation on Summeriea Avenue causing $1,741 in damage.
Lost credit card: Pamela Norris of 480 Vance Station told city police that losing her wallet Nov. 4, she found it in her church’s parking lot. While her ID was in the wallet, her credit cards along with $80 cash were missing. Her credit card company said somebody had charged $980 to her account.
Stolen Fire: Gerald Allshouse told city police somebody stole his Kindle Fire while he was at the City Mission on West Wheeling Street.
