Thomas and Carolyn Wright of Washington celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a family party hosted by their children at Bedford Springs Resort in Bedford.
The couple were married September 2, 1962, by the Rev. Richard Tome, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church of Bedford.
They have five children Jeffrey (Kathy) Wright of Bedford, Vickie (Carl) Group of Washington, Thomas (Tricia) Wright of Bedford, Andrew (Carol) Wright of Lancaster and Teresa (Rick) Newton of Claysville.
Their grandchildren are Anita, Laurie, Jeffrey, Phillip, Adam and Sara Wright, Cara, Caitlyn and Carl Group, Joshua, Apphia, Abigail, Anna, Jesse and Josiah Newton. They also have six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Wright retired from Wright Insurance Agency in 1992 and is chairman and consultant for Washington County Sewage Council.
Mrs. Wright retired from PNC Bank in 2001 and WesBanco Bank in 2010.
After moving to Washington from Bedford in 1964, they joined First Lutheran Church.
