Marlene McClure of Washington sent us this photo of a recent nocturnal visitor to her home. Marlene says that one night when she walked outside, she spotted this raccoon curled up, sound asleep, around the inside tray of a bird feeder hanging from a maple tree. She used an umbrella to bang on the feeder and wake him up, but he showed no interest in leaving. She eventually decided that he couldn't eat ALL of the seed, so she left him alone.
