There was a little pre-game pushing and shoving match at midfield between the Steelers and Bengals during warmups today.
James Harrison seemed to be at the center of things for the Steelers, while Vontaze Burfict and Wallace Gilberry was in the middle of the action for Cincinnati in what appeared to be a baseball-type dustup where everyone meets at the mound. Also involved on the Steelers’ side of things were Jarvis Jones, Vince Williams, Arthur Moats and Stephon Tuitt, among others.
There’s definitely some bad blood brewing between these two teams and plenty at stake in this one.
The Steelers need to win to inch closer to the playoffs, while the Bengals are trying to go for a sweep of the season series to show their fanbase that they are indeed relevant.
There are no real surprises on the Steelers’ inactive list. Heath Miller is active after sitting out last week. He told me earlier in the week that if he’s active and plays, he will not be restricted.
On Cincinnati’s side, Adam Jones, the Bengals’ best corner, is out with a foot injury. Safety George Iloka, who didn’t practice all week, is active.
Leon Hall, who also is banged up, is active and will start in place of Jones. That also pushes rookie Josh Shaw into the nickel spot.
