The NFL is reportedly not happy with all of the extracurricular stuff that happened between the Steelers and Bengals on Sunday – including the pre-game scuffle that happened.

But it doesn’t appear anything is going to let up anytime soon.

Adam “Pacman” Jones, noted wordsmith, took to Instagram to go after the Steelers: I’m sitting here looking at the thing on ESPN. I guess Pittsburgh got all gangsters. Mike Tomlin needs to tell his team to shut the (explative) up and play football, because ain’t nothing going to happen to 55 (Vontaze Burfict) on the field or off the field. Dig that. Ya’ll want to report, so report that … (explative).

The Instagram post has since been deleted, but not before Steelers right tackle Marcus Gilbert had a chance to respond.

“All I want for Christmas is the bengals. Would love to see them in the playoffs where they choke. The talking is done between the lines,” Gilbert Tweeted.

He then added: “No we are not thugs. We are professionals that seems to own the bengals =/ don’t get mad bro =”

Burfict went on an explative-related tirade when approached by reporters following Pittsburgh’s 33-20 win over the Bengals Sunday.

Burfict and Steelers linebacker Vince Williams had an exchange on Twitter after the Bengals won in Pittsburgh, 16-10, earlier this season, a game in which some Steelers were upset because they felt Burfict celebrated after making a tackle on All-Pro running back Le’Veon Bell that ended Bell’s season.

The war of words continued last week and, of course, bubbled over into the pre-game warmups with Burfict going to midfield and staring down Williams.

It should make things very interesting if these two teams do, indeed, meet again in the postseason.

That game would likely take place at Paul Brown Stadium, where the Steelers are now 14-3 after winning there Sunday.

@ The funny thing about Jones, of all people, calling the Steelers out for being “gangsters” is that it probably takes one to know one. Jones has a rap sheet longer than his list of accomplishments on the football field.

And he wasn’t even active to play Sunday because of a foot injury.

@ I’m placing the over/under on fines to come out of that game on Sunday at 8 – and they should be split pretty evenly. William Gay, Antonio Brown and Mike Mitchell will definitely draw fines for the Steelers and it wouldn’t surprise me if the league fines Williams as well.

But Burfict should be facing several. He took more cheap shots Sunday than a guy at the corner bar.
