This blog was written by Josh Yancosek and reviews the season premiere of “The Walking Dead.”

The television hit, “The Walking Dead” had its season premiere Oct. 11. Last season left off with the group discovering a safe haven at Alexandria, a town that has been kept safe from the horrors that now walk in the form of the walking dead.

Without the experience of surviving in this brutal world, Rick decides to take charge of Alexandria with his group.

In the opener, some time has passed since the events of the last episode in season 5. Facing imminent threats, the people of Alexandria take actions to face it. Throughout the episode, flashbacks fill in the gaps between then and now. Another major detail is the return of the staff-wielding Morgan. Morgan was first seen in season 1 where he saved Rick’s life. He made a short return in season 3, when he lost his mind after losing his son. Now, it appears he will be playing a major role this season. While things may seem to go well, something always has to go wrong. Thus, it creates a momentous cliffhanger that leaves you dying for more.

The season has started out in a full-out sprint and shows no sign of slowing down. Catch “The Walking Dead” Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
