Brown not forgiving Burfict, Jones

Steelers receiver Antonio Brown broke his silence regarding the hit he suffered at the hands – or should that be shoulder? – of Cincinnati linebacker Vontaze Burfict in the playoffs that left Pittsburgh’s three-time MVP with a concussion.
Brown, who did not play in the Steelers’ season-ending playoff loss the following week at Denver, doesn’t sound like he’s in a forgiving mood regarding Burfict or Cincinnati cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones.
“I feel like guys don’t want to stop me no more,” Brown said on KDKA-FM. “They want to take me out. They want to kill me. They want to steal my dreams. They want to ruin me. They want to end me. We’re not going to let them. We’re going to win more.”
Burfict was, of course, suspended three games to open the 2016 season following the hit on Brown as a habitual offender. He leads the NFL in personal foul penalties since 2012 despite missing more than a full season because of injuries.
Brown also didn’t have many kind words for Jones, who said and continued to say that Brown was faking his injuries from the brutal hit.
Jones said he would apologize to Brown if the receiver missed the game against Denver.
“The guy texted me,” Brown said. “No reply. I don’t even know why people give him a platform. Ridiculous.”
Burfict’s hit on Brown drew a 15-yard penalty that moved the Steelers into field goal range, while Jones drew an additional 15-yard penalty for contacting an official while attempting to go after Steelers assistant coach Joey Porter.
That set up Chris Boswell’s game-winning kick that sent the Steelers to an 18-16 victory and on to Denver the following week.
Brown said him playing against the Broncos was never a possibility.
“I didn’t have a chance,” he said. “I wish I could have been out there with my teammates.
“I actually got cleared the following week.”
