WHS is offering free blood pressure screenings the whole month of February. No appointment required at the following locations:

WHS Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center, Washington

Monday-Sunday, during normal business hours

Foundation for Wellness, Waynesburg

Monday-Friday, during normal business hours

WHS Heart-To-Heart Discussion

A cardiologist will be present to answer questions 5:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at WHS Greene in Waynesburg. The evening will feature heart related education, activities, food, prizes and more. Topics include diabetes and the heart, stroke care, exercise and more. Free blood pressure screenings available. Event is free to all community members, but seating is limited. Participants must register by emailing info@whs.org or calling 724.223.3131

As part of Go Red Community Day on Feb. 23, a Go Red Relay Triathlon will take place 6 a.m. at WHS Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center. Participation in the event is free and open to the public. Participants get a free full day pass to the center plus a free gift. Participants must register by calling 724.250.5249.

A Zumbathon will take place 6-8 p.m. Participants are asked to wear red. Cost is a $5 minimum donation. All donations made go to American Heart Association. The Zumbathon is open to the public, you do not need to be a member. No registration required, just show up and bring a friend.

In addition, all day Feb. 23 only, wear red to the Wellness Center and bring a friend. All non-members will receive a free pass to work out for the day.

WHS is teaming up with Painting with a Twist to raise money and awareness for heart and stroke related health issues 1-4 p.m. Feb. 26. Cost is $40 per painter and a portion of every ticket sale will go to the American Heart Association. Participants must register. Seating is limited to 100 participants and it was sold out last year, so reserve your seats early.

Enjoy a Girls Night Out while raising money and awareness for a good cause 4-9 p.m. Feb. 28 at Spa Harmony, located inside the Wellness Center. The night will include mini spa services, discounted retail, hors d’oeuvres and more. Services include mini makeup consultations, mini-facials, acupuncture demo, skin analysis, polish change, chair massage, foot reflexology and cosmetics consultation. Customized and discounted gift baskets will also be available.

Tickets are $50 and available at Spa Harmony. A portion of every ticket sale will benefit the American Heart Association.
