Symbols of Easter
Notice: Undefined variable: article_ad_placement3 in /usr/web/cs-washington.ogdennews.com/wp-content/themes/News_Core_2023_WashCluster/single.php on line 128
Easter has many symbols, including flowers, eggs, bunnies, butterflies and bread. These objects, embedded into our everyday lives and culture, also are a representation of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. For millions of Christians around the world celebrating Easter, Jesus Christ’s victory over death and his resurrection symbolize eternal life for all who believe in him.
In many cultures around the world, the egg is a symbol of new life, fertility and rebirth. But for Christians, the Easter egg is symbolic of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, with the shell representing the tomb from which Jesus emerged and was resurrected. Spring also reflects rebirth and life, with the sprouting of flowers after a long, dark winter. Lilies grow in the spring, close to Easter time.
