Softball

• Maddi Ewart doubled twice and drove in two runs to lead Carmichaels to a 10-0 victory over Beth-Center in a non-section game that lasted five innings.

Emily Menhart had a single and double and scored twice and Gina Ranieri tripled and drove in two runs for the Mikes (7-4). Megan Walker also tripled. Kylie Sinn struck out 12 and did not walk a batter.

Beth-Center fell to 1-7.

• A 5-run second and 7-run fourth helped Southmoreland to a 15-2 victory over Waynesburg in a 5-inning Section 3-AAA game.

Beth Bunner and Faith Miller each hit a double and drove in 2 runs for the Scotties (4-2, 4-3). Emily Eutsey, Maegan Shetterley and winning pitcher Jessice Matheny also doubled.

Sydney Hare doubled and drove in a run for Waynesburg (4-2, 6-4).

• Trinity cracked three home runs during a 10-6 victory over McKeesport in a Section 2 game in Class 5A.

Cameron Meier had a double and 2-run home run for the Hillers (5-3, 8-5). Winning pitcher Kylie Poland had a solo home run and Bailey Bell hit a 2-run blast. Bayleight McCullough went 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored.

McKeesport fell to 1-5 and 1-6.

• McGuffey pounded out 29 hits, outslugging Brownsville, 25-13 in a Section 3-AAA game.

The two teams combined for 38 runs, 47 hits and eight errors.

Ashley Blackhurst went 5-for-6 and drove in 7 runs, Megan Gray went 5-for-5 and scored 5 times and Ellie Serna went 5-for-7 with 3 RBI for the Highlanders (3-3, 3-3). Kaitlyn Muncy went 4-for-6 with 4 RBI and Shelby Dobrzynski was 3-for-6 with 4 RBI. Zoey Maze was 3-for-6 with 3 RBI. Rachel Shingle and Brin Hunter each had a double.

Aubri Hogsett hit a grand slam for the Falcons (1-5, 3-7).

Baseball

• Luke Robinson pitched 6 2/3 innings of no-hit ball as Waynesburg downed Seton-La Salle 5-1 in a Section 3-AAA game.

Robinson had to be removed because he reached his pitch count. Seton-La Salle then got a single and a run before the final out. Robinson struck out 9 and walked 2.

Kyle Blasco went 2-for-4 with a double, single and RBI for the Raiders (4-2, 5-2). Kyle Shriver went 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI. Brandon Turcheck went 3-for-3.

• Logan Rhodes doubled and drove in 3 runs to propel Jefferson-Morgan to a 17-0 win over Geibel in a Section 2-A game.

Zack Gamble doubled and drove in 2 runs and also combined with Jake Broadwater on 3 hitless innings for the Rockets (4-2, 5-2). Broadwater, Kyle Clayton and Justin Maddish also doubled.

Geibel fell to 0-6 and 0-6.

• Christian Gable doubled twice and drove in 4 runs to help send South Fayette to a 16-0 victory over Ambridge in a 3-inning game in Section 2 of Class 4A.

Richie Dell went 2-for-3 and drove in 3 runs for the Lions (5-2, 5-2). Ryan Kokoski doubled, went 3-for-3 and drove in 2 runs and Tyler Bedillion tripled, drove in2 and scored twice.

Ambridge fell to 0-8 and 0-8.
