The company that formerly owned a Mon Valley cemetery never responded to a lawsuit brought by the son of a woman whose ashes were found in a shed on the property three years ago.

Washington County President Judge Katherine B. Emery awarded $21,100 in damages to Daniel Worthington following a non-jury trial in March. A judgment against Charleroi Cemetery Co. was filed earlier this month.
