CANONSBURG

Man charged: Borough police charged Scott Wilson, 40, of McKees Rocks, Allegheny County, with illegally possessing a firearm and possessing a firearm with a removed serial number. An officer allegedly saw a handgun fall out of Wilson’s jacket on Nov. 28 when the officer approached Wilson at his girlfriend’s home in Valley View Terrace on another matter. Wilson was on probation because of a previous conviction and therefore barred from having guns. Wilson was jailed on $50,000 bond in that case. He also faces charges of theft, receiving stolen property, theft from a vehicle and attempted theft from a vehicle in a separate case also filed that day.

CANTON

Drug charges: State police charged Christopher D. Thomas Jr., 24, of Caldwell Avenue with possession of drugs with intent to deliver, receiving stolen property and drug possession. The charges stem from a compliance check of Thomas’s home initiated by the Washington County adult probation office on Sept. 4. A search allegedly turned up heroin, marijuana, crack cocaine and two handguns, one of which had been reported stolen. Court records show Thomas is being held in the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.

NORTH FRANKLIN

Theft charge: Lamonte Depree Rush, 35, of Charleston, W.Va., is being charged with theft after allegedly stealing a 32-inch Samsung television set from a room at Day’s Inn Nov. 24. Charges are being filed through the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

WASHINGTON

Assault charge: Richard Porter, 55, of Washington, is being charged with simple assault after allegedly throwing to the ground and punching Marin Oreski on Nov. 24 at his residence. The charges were filed through the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Charged with burglary: Francis A. Fedorka Jr., 45, of Washington, is being charged with burglary and recklessly endangering another person after allegedly pushing open an unlocked door and entering the residence of Daphne Tidrick of 865 Duncan Ave. on multiple days in November. He allegedly refused to leave after Tidrick told him to. Charges are being filed through the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Assault charge: Dustin Floyd Brooks, 26, of Washington, is being charged with simple assault after allegedly punching Kristine Hutchins of 649 Broad St. in the back of the head at her residence Nov. 28. Charges are being filed through the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Theft, receiving charges: Joshua Neil Boston, 30, and Windy Lee Baker, 35, both of Bridgeville, are both being charged with theft and receiving stolen property after allegedly stealing two trail cameras, a gold chain and an AT&T tablet from the residence of Washington resident Donald Adams on Nov. 14. Charges are being filed through the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Crash: A New Eagle woman was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital with a suspected minor injury following a one-vehicle crash Sunday evening on Route 18. State police said Kimberly A. Casteel, 48, was driving south on Golden Oaks Road near Triumph Road just before 7 p.m., when she failed to negotiate a turn and went off the road. Police said she drove through a fence and down an embankment.
