Joe Salvino’s wait for a win at Belle Vernon is over.
Cam Nusser and Larry Callaway each scored 20 points as Salvino picked up his first victory as the Leopards’ coach, defeating Laurel Highlands in a non-section game Wednesday night, 68-58.
Belle Vernon (1-5) kept its offensive consistency throughout the entire game, outscoring the Mustangs in three of the four quarters.
Nusser also finished with eight assists for the Leopards, who took a 31-25 lead into the half. Another big reason for the offensive success was Mitch Pohlot, who finished with 19 points and 16 rebounds.
