Anthony Glover scored 32 points and made six of Indiana’s 13 three-point field goals as the Crimson Hawks defeated California 89-82 in a PSAC West Division men’s basketball game Wednesday night at the Convocation Center.
Indiana build a huge first-half lead but then had to fight off a late rally by the Vulcans.
The Crimson Hawks (9-2, 13-5), who are in first place in the West Division, scored the game’s first 13 points and led 33-7 only eight minutes into the contest. California (4-8, 8-10) pulled to within 51-33 by halftime and then used a 9-0 run to trim the Crimson Hawks’ lead to single digits at 83-75 with 3:40 remaining.
Cal was within 84-79 following consecutive baskets by Jahmere Howze but could not make it a one-possession game.
Howze and Robel Teckle each scored 18 points for California. Isaiah lewis had 15 points, Philip Alexander 12 and Cordell Smith 11.
Glover made 10 of 15 shots, including six of 10 from three-point range, to lead IUP’s attack. The Crimson Hawks attempted 30 free throws, making 20. Cal was 5-for-9 at the free-throw line.
