Wilmer Flores walked ’em off again, connecting for a pinch-hit homer in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the New York Mets a 4-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in the opener of a twinight doubleheader Monday.

Asdrubal Cabrera also went deep for the Mets and hit an RBI double off the top of the right-center fence.

In the makeup of an April 2 game postponed by snow, Flores led off the 10th and nearly was hit on the arm by a pitch. In fact, he started toward first base and motioned toward the New York dugout to ask for a replay review when plate umpire Tom Hallion called ball three.

The call stood following the review – but Flores did one better. He drove the next delivery from Victor Arano (1-1) off the left-field foul pole for his fourth career game-ending homer and second this season.

That gave Flores 10 career walk-off RBI, breaking a tie with David Wright for the most in Mets history.

Posey to miss all-star game: San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey will miss the All-Star game because of a lingering right hip issue that needs an injection to calm the inflammation.

Manager Bruce Bochy made the announcement Monday before the start of a three-game series with the Chicago Cubs. The Giants had been discussing the possibility for about a month, Bochy said, and Posey is scheduled to have the injection after Sunday’s game Bay Bridge Series game against Oakland.

Posey began the day batting .285 with five homers and 27 RBI in 74 games. Bochy believes the hip has affected Posey’s power.

Dodgers put Puig on DL: The Los Angeles Dodgers placed right fielder Yasiel Puig on the 10-day disabled list with a right oblique sprain prior to Monday’s game against the San Diego Padres.

Puig, who is hitting .265 with 11 home runs, was removed from Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Angels during a fifth-inning at-bat. Earlier, Puig had homered for the second consecutive game.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Puig might not return until August.

“It’s going to be a few weeks,” Roberts said. “With the time we have left in the season, we have to be very careful. Otherwise it can come back to bite you at an important time. So we are going to be patient.”

Andrew Toles, who was out for two months with a hamstring injury, was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Baltimore 5, N.Y. Yankees 4: Danny Valencia snapped an 0-for-25 skid with a three-run homer in the sixth inning off CC Sabathia, and the Baltimore Orioles beat the New York Yankees 5-4 in the opener of a doubleheader.

Mark Trumbo also homered for the Orioles, who snapped a six-game losing streak.

The Yankees were cruising with a 4-2 lead in the sixth when Sabathia (6-4) walked Trumbo and yielded a double to Jonathan Schoop. With the New York bullpen buzzing in an effort to get a reliever ready, Sabathia served up a 2-1 pitch that Valencia drove far over the center-field wall.

It would be the final pitch for the big left-hander, who allowed five runs and eight hits in five-plus innings. Sabathia, 37, is winless in his last nine starts against the Orioles since May 4, 2016.

Boston 5, Texas 0: J.D. Martinez hit his major league-leading 28th home run, Steve Pearce added a two-run shot and Eduardo Rodriguez pitched 5 2/3 innings to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 5-0 victory over the Texas Rangers and their seventh straight win.

The Red Sox won for the 14th time in 17 games to end the day with their biggest lead over the Yankees in the AL East since April. Boston led New York, which lost the opener of a doubleheader in Baltimore, by three games pending the outcome of the nightcap.

Pearce, who was acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays last month, lined a 3-2 pitch into the Monster Seats with two outs in the first inning to make it 2-0. It stayed that way until Mookie Betts and Andrew Benintendi singled to lead off the eighth and Martinez put one into the Monster Seats to give the Red Sox a 5-0 lead.

That was plenty for five Red Sox pitchers, who combined on a five-hitter.
