Southpointe will be getting a taste of Mexico this summer.
Steel Cactus Mexican Restaurante and Cantina is targeted to open in August in Town Center, according to Sarah Masterson, spokeswoman for AMPD Group, which operates the chain of Pittsburgh area restaurants. Steel Cactus will take over the space previously occupied by Saga Hibachi Steakhouse and Sushi Bar. Boom Noodles, a “grab and go” business, will share that location.
Masterson had no other details on the Southpointe restaurant.
This will be the first Steel Cactus location outside of Allegheny County. Four are operating now – Shadyside, South Side, PNC Park and Pittsburgh International Airport. Another is expected to open fairly soon at the Cool Springs’ complex in Bethel Park.
