Town hall to feature candidates

A town hall meeting that the Monongahela Area Revitalization Corp. plans to hold Monday will feature candidates in the two races determining who’ll represent the area in the state Legislature.

The panel for the 7?p.m. event at the Monongahela Fire Department Social Hall will include incumbent state Sen. Camera Bartolotta, R-Carroll, and Democrat James Craig of North Strabane Township, who is mounting a bid for the 46th Senate District seat, plus 49th District state Rep. Bud Cook, R-West Pike Run, and his challenger, Democrat Steven Toprani of Monongahela.

The candidates will discuss their visions for the Mon Valley and field questions from the audience. George Eckert, president of the revitalization corporation, will moderate the event, which is sponsored by EQT Corp.
