Plan to name road for

Crosby hits snag

How’s this for a slap shot to the ego: Sidney Crosby is not getting a road named for him in his home province of Nova Scotia.

It seems one of hockey’s greatest players does not meet the criteria for commemorative naming because he has not yet retired. When it comes to changing the name of Dartmouth’s Forest Hills Parkway to Sidney Crosby Parkway a roadblock is now up.

A report by Halifax city staff acknowledges the “broad range of positive impacts” of Crosby’s achievements, but renaming the street would conflict with municipal policies. Instead, other tributes are suggested: declaring a “Sidney Crosby Day,” naming a community rink after him or installing a public art project in his honor.

Beaver (4-2) led 42-0 at halftime. List threw TD passes of 57 and 55 yards to Zach Hanson, 30 yards to Charlie Hugge and Mavero had first-half TD runs of five, 22 and five yards.

Boyd gave the Presidents (3-0, 8-0) a 1-0 lead 25:02 into the game but the Cardinals tied it five minutes later. With less than 12 minutes remaining, Boyd dribbled in from the 25-yard line and drew Fisher’s goalie out of the cage and was able to go past her and record the game-winning goal.
