Monessen scored the final three runs of the game, over the final two innings, to rally for a wild 13-11 win over host West Greene in Section 2-A.

West Greene (3-2, 5-3) led 6-3 after three innings and 11-10 after five before Monessen (3-1, 4-4) tied it in the sixth and pushed across two runs in the seventh.

Nate Lynch was the winning pitcher with 3 2/3 innings of relief. he struck out only three but each came in the bottom of the seventh.

Monessen’s Vincenzo Rhome had a double among his three hits that went with four RBI. Zach Evans scored five runs, Jack Sacco doubled and Nathan Lynch had a double.

Cory Wise tripled for West Greene, Joey Reed and Caleb Rice each had a doubled and Hunter Hamilton had three singles.

N Brycen Virgili went 3-for-3 with a double and cam Weston hit a solo home run as Canon-McMillan cruised to a 10-2 victory over visiting Brashear in Class 6A Section 3.

Canon-McMillan (3-1, 7-3) scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning and five Big Macs pitchers combined on a six-hitter.

Casey Burke, Matt Cottrail and Jay Quinque each drove in a pair of runs for Canon-McMillan.

Softball

Kylie Sinn threw a one-hitter and struck out seven, and hit one of Carmichaels’ two triples as the Mikes defeated California 15-0 in a three-inning non-section game.

Sinn, Shelbee McCann and Emma Holaren, the top three hitters in Carmichaels’ lineup, combined to go 6-for-7 with six RBI. McCann also had a triple. Emily Menhart and Mia Ranieri each contributed a double.

Carmichaels is 6-3 while California fell to 1-7.

N Logan Hartman threw a three-hitter, struck out 11 and also hit a double and triple in Frazier’s 11- win over Charleroi in a six-inning Class 2A Section 3 contest.

Kathryn Barch went 3-for-4 with a home run for Frazier (5-1, 7-1), Emi Curcio triple and Rylee Evans had a double.

Frazier plays a key section game Monday at Chartiers-Houston.

Charleroi dropped to 2-4 in the section and 4-4 overall.
