For the second time in as many games, the Peters Township High School baseball team couldn’t be held down.

Using an 11-run third inning, the Indians won their fourth consecutive game with another impressive offensive showing in a 16-2 five-inning victory over Upper St. Clair in a Class 6A Section 3 game Friday.

Over the last two games, Peters Township (4-0, 7-3) has scored 40 runs.

It was two-out lightning that led to all 11 runs in the third against USC as 13 straight batters reached base safely.

Mark Lehman broke a 2-2 tie when he hit a two-run triple to center field. Dom Campagna then doubled to left field later in the inning to drive in two more runs for the Indians.

Campagna was the lone player with a three-hit day. He went 3-for-4 with four RBI and scored once. Matthew Levy and Sam Quinn each had a pair of hits.

Peters Township pitcher Tom Colcombe picked up the win, surrendering only three hits, two runs (one earned) and striking out nine in five innings. The lone earned run given up by Colcombe was on a wild pitch in the first inning.

Upper St. Clair falls to 2-3 in the section and 6-5 overall after losing four of its last six games.
