Ben Jackson scored five touchdowns on just seven carries and gained 150 yards during West Greene’s 82-14 victory over Bentworth in a Tri-County South Conference game Friday night at Kennedy Field.
Kolin Walker rushed for 131 yards and scored three times for the Pioneers (1-0, 2-0). He and Gavin Scott each returned a fumble for a touchdown.
West Greene led 76-14 at halftime.
Owen Petrisek scored twice for Bentworth (0-1, 0-2).
Washington 42, Charleroi 14
Zahmere Robinson rushed for three touchdowns, including two in the third quarter, as Washington pulled away in the second half for a 42-14 victory over Charleroi in a Class 2A Interstate Conference game at Wash High Stadium.
After the first half ended tied 14-14, Robinson broke off touchdown runs of 61 and 80 yards in the pivotal third quarter, powering Washington (1-0, 2-0) on its way to four second-half scores.
Robinson finished with 233 rushing yards on 19 carries. He scored on a 12-yard run in the first quarter.
The Cougars (0-1, 0-1) took leads of 7-0 and 14-6 on a 59-yard punt return by Legend Davis and a nine-yard TD pass from Alex Conrad to Davis.
Wash High sealed the win in the fourth quarter on a 19-yard TD run by Amari Miller and a 33-yard scoring pass from Zack Swartz to Miller. Swartz threw an eight-yard TD to Isaiah Edwards in the second quarter.
Greensburg Salem 19, Trinity 13, OT
Trent Patrick bulled over from one-yard out in the first overtime to give Greensburg Salem a 19-13 victory over Trinity in a Big Eight Conference game in Class 4A Friday night at Hiller Field.
Trinity had the ball first in overtime but a fourth-down run was stopped short of the goal line.
Talon Cain, who made the start at quarterback because Kaden Kolson was lost earlier in the season, was injured in the first half and did not return for the Hillers (0-1). Trinity ran the wildcat in the second half.
Drew Cain rushed for 139 yards on 17 carries and had two quarterback sacks on defense.
Talon Cain opened the scoring with a 23-yard run in the first quarter. Micah Finley scored on a 1-yard run in the third quarter. Patrick scored on a 1-yard run in the second quarter to tie it, 13-13, at halftime.
Carmichaels 34, Beth-Center 25
Quarterback Kevin Kelly ran for four touchdowns, and Carmichaels’ defense shut out visiting Beth-Center in the second half, as the Mikes rallied for a 34-25 victory in a Class 2A Interstate Conference game.
Beth-Center (0-1, 0-2) led 25-14 at halftime, but Kelly scored on runs of one and four yards to give Carmichaels (1-0, 1-0) a 28-25 lead with 8:31 remaining. Beth-Center then lost a fumble, which set up an 18-yard TD scamper by Kelly.
B-C had forged its first-half lead on scoring runs of nine and 18 yards by Ryan Lynch and 10-yard pass from Colby Kuhns to Devin Dingle.
Michael Robinson returned a kickoff 68 yards for a first-half touchdown for Carmichaels.
Chartiers-Houston 40, Jefferson-Morgan 0Anthony Lento and Nathan Cavallo combined for five touchdowns to spark Chartiers-Houston to a 40-0 shutout of Jefferson-Morgan in a Tri-County South Conference game.
Lento scored on runs of 6 and 2 yards. He completed 5 of 9 pass attempts for 66 yards and hit Colton Craig with a 5-yard scoring pass.
Cavallo scored on runs of 6 and 14 yards. Sam Dewalt had 102 yards on 15 carries.
Avella 12, Bishop Canevin 0
Two fourth-quarter touchdowns and an overwhelming defensive effort propelled Avella to a 12-0 victory over Bishop Canevin in a non-section game.
Anthony Georgetti scored from 14 yards out with 11:50 to play. Justin Dryer put the game out of reach with a 4-yard run with 2:31 to go. The defense for Avella (1-1) held Bishop Canevin (0-2) to 126 total yards. Robbie West had two sacks and recovered a fumble.
South Fayette 55, Beaver 6
Andrew Franklin scored on three runs in the first half to help South Fayette rout Beaver, 55-6, in a Northwest East Conference game in Class 4A.
Franklin scored on runs of 8, 2 and 1 yards as the Lions (1-0, 1-1) built a 42-6 lead at intermission. He rushed for 65 yards on 12 carries.
Eli Snider returned two interceptions for touchdowns, 50 yards in the first half and 34 in the second. Naman Alemada completed 9 of 13 passes for 166 yards and 2 TDs.
Belle Vernon 57, Ambridge 0
Jared Hartman passed for three touchdowns, Larry Calloway ran for three scores and Belle Vernon’s defense dominated in a 57-0 win over host Ambridge.
Belle Vernon (1-0) held Ambridge (0-2) to only 35 total yards and three first downs.
Hartman completed nine of 15 passes for 105 yards. Calloway rushed for 66 yards on seven carries and Devin Whitlock gained 79 yards on six attempts and scored a touchdown.
Trinity Christian 38, Mapletown 34
Drew Boczek threw three touchdown passes, including a 19-yard game-winner to Levi Teets early in the fourth quarter as Trinity Christian (W.Va.) edged Mapletown 38-34 in a back-and-forth game that featured six lead changes.
Neither team led by more than six points and each squad scored five touchdowns. The difference was Trinity Christian (1-0) being better at converting two-point conversions.
A one-yard TD plunge by Max Vanata gave Mapletown a 34-30 lead after three quarters. Vanata completed the only two passes he attempted, one covering 64 yards to Landan Stevenson for a second-quarter touchdown.
Stevenson rushed for 208 yards on 21 carries and scored three times, twice on runs that covered 10 and 34 yards. Zack Greene had a 75-yard TD run for Mapletown (1-1). Greene finished with 147 yards on seven carries.
Mt. Lebanon 49, Canon-McMillan 21
Mt. Lebanon rebounded from a season-opening loss to Gateway with a 49-21 victory over Canon-McMillan in a Quad County Conference game.
Ryan Angott rushed for 72 yards and a score and Blake Joseph caught 11 passes for 101 yards and two TDs.
Carlynton 42, Fort Cherry 8
Dallas Paolino ran for three first-half touchdowns and caught a TD pass in the second half, Cahuncie Mickens returned a punt 69 yards for a score and Carlynton defeated Fort Cherry 42-8 in a Class 2A Three Rivers Conference game.
The touchdown for Fort Cherry (0-1, 0-2) was a one-yard run by Noah Babirad, who threw a two-point conversion pass to Jackson Clevenger.

Thomas Jefferson raced to a 41-point first-quarter lead and defeated Ringgold 48-6 in the Big Eight Conference. Aliquippa was a 60-9 winner over Waynesburg in the Tri-County West.
