Century III Mall in West Mifflin has been closed by West Mifflin Code Enforcement deemed “unsafe and uninhabitable.”
According to code enforcement, the shutdown is due to a water and fire suppression system issue inside the structure. They also said the closure is only temporary and doesn’t affect Dick’s Sporting Goods or JCPenney.
A photo of a sign that was shared on the West Mifflin Borough’s Facebook page stated, “This structure is unsafe and uninhabitable its occupancy is prohibited by the code official.”
The mall, which still hosts 14 stores including JCPenney and Dick’s according to the mall’s website, has seen a major decline over the last several years.
