HARRIS, Mich. – Rachel Rohanna of Waynesburg shot a 2-under-par 70 Friday in the opening round of the Symetra Tour’s Island Resort Championship at the Sweetgrass Golf Club.
Rohanna is tied for 26th place and trails the tournament’s four leaders by only three shots.
The round was clean and steady for Rohanna as she did not have a bogey on the day. She reeled off 13 consecutive pars to start her round until a birdie on the par-4 No. 14. She birdied No. 16, also a par-4 hole.
Rohanna began the weekend 31st on the Symetra Tour’s money list. The top 10 players on the Symtera Tour’s money list at season’s end automatically are awarded LPGA Tour cards for the following season.
