Anawanna Hunting and Fishing Club will hots a meat shoot today beginning at noon.
Keystone Coon Hunters will host meat shoots March 17 and 31. Registration willo begin at 11 a.m.with the shoot at noon.
Marianna Field & Stream Club has set its schedule of open-to-the-public shoots for 2019. They include shotgun shoots today and March 24, April 28, Oct. 27, Nov. 17 and 24; rifle shoots April 7, Sept. 15 and 29, Oct. 13; and a Deer Rifle Shoot With Larry on Nov. 3. A Pennsylvania Game Commission Hunter Safety Course will be offered April 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Harvey’s Grange near Graysville. The course is required for first-time hunters. Lunch and snacks will be provided by the grange. To preregister, visit www.pgc.com.
California University’ student chapter will host its 22nd annual Outdoor Bash and Wild Game Dinner March 23, at 6 p.m., at the Richeyville Volunteer Fire Department.
In cooperation with the Local No. 1 of the National Wild Turkey Federation, the chapter will offer a variety of game dishes, such as deer, elk, bear, pheasant, rabbit, wild turkey, duck and goose, beaver, fish, turtle and alligator.
Outdoor gear, artwork and free passes to many future wildlife-related activities will be raffled off and awarded as door prizes throughout the evening, while guests enjoy a wild array of foods.
Cost is $20; tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door.
Proceeds from this event supports student trips to various conferences, such as the National Wildlife Society Conference, training workshops for wildlife management restoration, fire ecology as well as chainsaw certification and CPR/First Aid certification training.
Funding also gives students the opportunity to participate in long-term monitoring program of Delmarva fox squirrels in Maryland and present environmental education programming to primary and secondary students in the region.
