The attorney representing a man convicted of making a felony-level threat to shoot striking Ringgold teachers has appealed his sentence to state Superior Court.
George J. Shallenberger, Jr., 45, of Union Township, was sentenced March 4 and ordered to report to the county jail no later than noon Tuesday, April 2, to serve 2 to 23 months.
Washington County Judge Valarie Costanzo banned him from Ringgold School District property and events unless he receives prior written permission from the superintendent.
She also ordered that he not possess any firearms throughout the duration of his sentence and noted federal law may prohibit him from possessing any firearms once his parole has ended.
