EQT Foundation awards $7.7M to youth services

EQT Foundation, the charitable arm of natural gas producer EQT Corp., announced Tuesday that it awarded a record $7.7 million-plus in grants, scholarships and other contributions in 2018 to nonprofit organizations and programs in Southwestern Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio and northern West Virginia.
The firm added that the foundation also matched charitable contributions of EQT employees and directors totaling more than $1.2 million.
Recipients include:
Pennsylvania Envirothon, which creates teaching tools for high school natural resource enthusiasts in Greene and Washington counties;
Lemoyne Community Center, East Washington, which provides educational and leadership opportunities to students outside of the classroom;
West Virginia University STEM Ambassador Program, through which WVU undergrads teach STEM topics to local youths at summer camps;
Friends of the St. Clairsville Public Library, which provides educational materials for youths in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
