Girls soccer
Three different players scored unanswered goals for playoff-bound South Fayette as the Lions defeated Mt. Lebanon, 3-1, in a non-section match.
Jilianna Ruzza, Anna Hertzler and Caroline Fleming all netted second-half goals for South Fayette (9-8).
Melia Peer scored at the 25-minute mark of the first half for Mt. Lebanon (3-15) to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
• Jocelyn Timlin scored three goals to reach 150 in her career as Bentworth cruised past Monessen, 12-0, in a Section 2-A match.
Paige Marshalek led Bentworth (12-0, 16-1) with four goals. The win finishes the second consecutive season the Bearcats went unbeaten in section play.
Monessen finishes the season 2-10 in the section and 4-14 overall.
Boys soccer
Beth-Center defeated McGuffey, 1-0, in a non-section game.
Field hockey
Mia Pugliano and Nica Schratz both scored as Peters Township defeated Fox Chapel, 2-1, in girls field hockey.
Sloan Rost scored for Fox Chapel.
Men’s soccer
Washington & Jefferson jumped out to a four-goal lead and held off Waynesburg to defeat the Yellow Jackets, 4-2, in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference match.
Jake Fetterman opened the scoring in the first half for the Presidents, who then scored three goals in a five-minute span in the second half to build their lead to 4-0. Dylan Mayanja, John Appiah and Alvaro Viadas all scored for W&J (3-0-1, 6-6-2).
Dante Ohm and Kyle Deaner scored for Waynesburg (0-2-2, 3-8-2).
Wilson earns PSAC honor
California University sophomore golfer Rachel Wilson was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week.
Wilson finished in third place on the individual leaderboard last week while competing in the Lady Eagles Invitational with a two-day total of 16-over 158, setting a career high with six birdies and an eagle.
The reigning PSAC Freshman of the Year ranks second on the Vulcans in scoring average this fall (81.6).
