Jax Banco threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Phillips with 31.4 seconds remaining, giving Trinity a wild 28-25 come-from-behind win over Laurel Highlands in the Class 4A Big Eight Conference finale Friday night.

Trinity (3-4, 3-6) led 14-0 in the first quarter and 21-0 early in the second quarter. Laurel Highlands (2-5, 2-8) battled back and finally took the lead at 25-21 with 6:26 remaining.

On the ensuing possession, Trinity turned the ball over on downs but LH, trying to run out the clock, fumbled and the Hillers recovered with 2:05 remaining, setting up the game-winning drive.

West Greene 59, Union 26

Ben Jackson rushed for 367 yards and eight touchdowns on 17 carries, powering West Greene to a 59-26 victory over Union in a non-conference game.

Jackson set the WPIAL’s touchdown record for the regular season, finishing with 47. The previous record was 42 and held by Armstrong’s Zane Dudek.

Jackson scored on runs of 30 and 10 yards in the first quarter, 11 and 95 yards in the second quarter, 78, four and 64 yards in the third quarter and capped the scoring with a 46-yard jaunt in the fourth quarter.

West Greene’s Kolin Walker rushed for 164 yards on eight carries, which included a five-yard TD. The Pioneers (9-1) rushed for 529 yards and had 594 yards of total offense.

Burgettstown 24, South Allegheny 14

Burgettstown rallied from an early deficit to defeat South Allegheny, 24-14, in a Class 2A Three Rivers Conference game.

Burgettstown (7-0, 9-0) is the conference champion. South Allegheny is 3-4 and 4-6.

The Blue Devils trailed, 7-0, after one quarter but Jake Lounder had TD runs of 43 and 2 yards and found Seth Phillis from 7 yards in the third quarter. Phillis also kicked a 39-yard field.

Burgettstown made a goal-line stand in the fourth quarter.

Canon-McMillan 35, Butler 7

Ryan Angott rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns – all in the first half – and Deuce Lyons ran for a score and passed for another as Canon-McMillan prepared for the upcoming Class 6A playoffs with a 35-7 victory over winless Butler.

After a scoreless first quarter, Canon-McMillan erupted for 28 second-quarter points. The Big Macs (3-5, 3-7) held Butler (0-8, 0-9) to 80 yards total offense.

Angott got C-M going with a four-yard TD run in the first minuet of the second quarter. Lyons made it 14-0 when h ran seven yards for a score.

Blake Joseph’s 25-yard TD padded the gap to 21-0. Angott had a 57-yard run late in the first half and on the next play he rambled 18 yards to the end zone to make it 28-0 at halftime.

C-M scored on its first play of the second half, a 70-yard pass from Lyons to Caleb Rancher.

California 41, Mapletown 6

California returned a punt, interception and kickoff for touchdowns, each in the first half, and defeated Mapletown 41-6 in the Class A Tri-County South Conference.

California (6-1, 7-3) led 20-0 five minutes into the game as Jaeden Zuzak had a 43-yard punt return and a 55-yard TD run. Lucas Qualk returned an interception 28 yards to make it 20-0.

Landan Stevenson had a four-yard TD run late in the first half for Mapletown (1-6, 2-8), but California’s Malik Ramsey returned the ensuing kickoff 82 yards for a score. The Trojans tacked on scoring runs of 52 yards by Zuzak and 24 yards by Colton Lusk in the third quarter. Zuzak had 124 yards on six carries.

Belle Vernon 63, Ringgold 6

Jared Hartman completed seven of eight passes for 143 yards and three touchdowns and Nolan Labuda scored three times, powering Belle Vernon to a 63-6 victory over Ringgold in the Class 4A Big Eight Conference.

Hartman had scoring pass of seven yards to Dane Anden and 29 and 47 yards to Labuda. During Belle Vernon’s 36-point second quarter, which opened a 49-0 halftime lead, Labuda had a 44-yard punt return for a score. Devin Whitlock had TD runs of three and 55 yards for the Leopards (6-1, 8-1).

Chartiers-Houston 20, Riverview 13

Anthony Lento threw two touchdown passes and Jimmy Sadler scored twice as Chartiers-Houston used a big third quarter to defeat Riverview 20-13 in a non-conference game.

Sadler, who caught a 46-yard TD pass from Lento in the first quarter, broke a 7-7 tie in the third quarter with a three-yard run. Lento then connected with Tyler Blumen on a 54-yard TD pass that gave the Bucs (7-3) a 20-7 lead.

Carmichaels 26, Brownsville 0

Bailey Jones and Kevin Kelly each scored two touchdowns as Carmichaels defeated Brownsville, 26-0, in the Century Conference finale.

Jones scored on runs of 2 and 9 yards for the Mikes (3-4, 4-5). Kelly went over from 9 and 25 yards as the Mikes end the season on a three-game winning streak. Kelly rushed for 168 yards and Kelly had 120.

Jefferson-Morgan 46, Bentworth 39

Jonathan Wolfe rushed for 216 yards on 45 carries and scored four touchdowns, the last a 51-yarder in the fourth quarter as Jefferson-Morgan outscored Bentworth, 46-39, in a Class A Tri-County South Conference game.

Wolfe scored on runs of 10, 10, 18 and 51 for the Rockets (3-4, 3-7). Cole Jones ran for a score and threw for one.

Shawn Dziak completed 22 of 45 passes for 418 yards and four TDs for the Bearcats (2-5, 2-8). Owen Petrisek caught six passes for 158 yards and two TDs and rushed for 89 yards and two scores. Petrisek broke the school’s single-season touchdown record with his 19th.

Keystone Oaks 40, Waynesburg 7

It went all downhill for Waynesburg after scoring the opening touchdown as it surrendered 40 unanswered points and fell to Keystone Oaks, 40-7, in a Class 3A Tri-County West Conference game.

Darnell Johnson gave Waynesburg (0-7, 2-8) a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on a two-yard TD run.

KO (3-4, 6-4) responded quickly with a touchdown of similar distance by Nick Whittington. That was followed by a one-yard score from quarterback Logan Shrubb and a pair of touchdown passes to give the Golden Eagles a 26-7 halftime lead. Shrubb had four touchdowns.

Monessen 48, Avella 14

Jalen Brice and Antwon Tucker each scored twice in Monessen’s 48-14 victory over Avella in the Tri-County South Conference.

Nijier Foster and Elijah Davis also scored for Monessen (4-3, 4-6) Derek Tarolli threw two TD passes for Avella (0-7, 1-9).

Frazier 19, Beth-Center 18

Frazier scored 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to defeat Beth-Center, 19-18, in the Century Conference.

Bobby Boggs scored on a 3-yard run with 38 seconds to play and Tristan Scott hit the extra point kick for Frazier (2-5, 2-7). A few plays earlier, Kenny Fine returned an interception 65 yards for a score to cut B-C’s lead to 18-12.

Devin Dingle, Kamden Studniki and Nick Martin each had a touchdown for B-C (0-7, 1-9).
