Pitt’s game Sept. 21 against Central Florida at Heinz Field will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and be televised by either ABC, ESPN or ESPN 2, it was announced Monday. Television coverage will be finalized after this weekend’s games.
Girls soccer
Everyone got into the act for Peters Township as the Indians had goals from sevne different players and routed host Brashear, 9-0, in Class 4A Section 2.
Hannah Stuck led the way by scoring three goals for the Indians (3-0, 5-0), who have outscored their opponents 19-3 on the season.
Casey Breier, Kayla McFerran, Maddie Schwieger, Abby Neupaver, Rachel Raber and Riley Lopus each tallied one goal. The Indians used multiple players at goalkeeper.
Brashear is winless at 0-3, 0-3. The Bulls have not scored a goal.
- Jocelyn Timlin scored three goals, powering undefeated Bentworth to a 6-0 victory over visiting McGuffey in a Section 2-A match.
It was the section opener for Bentworth (1-0, 4-0). Freshman Reagan Schreiber scored two goals for the Bearcats and Rori Schreiber had one.
- Alyssa Clutter’s goal erased a deficit and Trinity played to a 1-1 tie with Obama Academy in Class 3A Section 3.
The tie was the first blemish on Trinity’s record as the Hillers are 2-0-1 both in the section and overall. Obama is 1-2, 2-2.
- Annalisa Mariano and Rachel Black each scored to lead South Fayette to a 2-1 win over Ambridge in Class 3A Section 4.
The win is the third in a row for South Fayette (2-0, 3-1).
Ambridge (2-1, 4-1) suffered its first loss of the season.
- Three different Waynesburg players scored two goals apiece as the raiders overpowered host Southmoreland 6-0 in Class 2A Section 3.
Waynesburg (1-1, 1-1) forged a 4-0 lead by halftime.
Rhea Kijowski, Jillian Kijowski and freshman Ashlyn Basinger each scored two goals for Waynesburg. The Kijowski sisters also had two assists apiece and Basinger had one. Goalkeeper McKenzie Booth made eight saves for the shutout.
Southmoreland is 1-2 in section and overall.
- Canon-McMillan snapped a two-game losing streak with a 10-0 thumping of Baldwin in Class 4A Section 2.
Annabel Thomas led the Big Macs (1-2, 2-2) by scoring three goals. Lexi Twaddle and Leah Godfrey each scored two goals, and Lindsay Adams, Savanah Houk and Sarah Tonkovich eaach contributed one tally.
Goalkeeper Ashley Barzd had the shutout against the Highlanders (1-2, 1-2).
- Belle Vernon scored nine second-half goals and routed host Albert Gallatin 11-0 in Class 3A Section 2.
Morgan Einodshofer led the section-leading Leopards (3-0, 4-1) with four goals and one assist. Jillian Butchki had two goals and three assists.
Albert Gallatin (0-2, 1-3) has lost three in a row.
- South Fayette used goals by Annalisa Mariano and Rachel Black to slip past visiting Ambridge 2-1 in a Class 3A Section 4 match.
The Lions (2-0, 3-1) have won three in a row.
Boys soccer
Dominic Hancq and Austin Arnold scored second-half goals as Chartiers-Houston shut out Beth-Center, 2-0, in a non-section game.
Matt Bucha assisted on Hancq’s goal. Chris Rethage made three saves to record the shutout victory for C-H (3-1-1).
Beth-Center (3-2) had its two-game winning streak snapped.

The league reached out to the Browns on Monday and told them that their star can no longer wear a watch on the field after he sported an expensive one during Sunday’s season opener against Tennessee.

The flashy, fashionable wide receiver wore an orange Richard Mille-designed watch – which retails for more than $250,000 – during the Browns’ 43-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans.
On Monday, league spokesman Michael Signora said while there are no rules prohibiting jewelry, there is a policy “prohibiting hard objects.”
Browns coach Freddie Kitchens said he was not aware that Beckham had on the lavish time piece. Kitchens also said the team will abide the rules.
“As long as they’re going to enforce that with everyone, I’m fine with it,” Kitchens said. “Let’s just make sure it gets enforced with everybody.”
